Hello again from Gary.
No, we haven’t disappeared. But with the help of an “Ace” programmer, we’ve been in the process of making major changes to our site. We hope you like it’s new “look”.
Now that we’re full swing into the Christmas shopping season, I’ve been wracking my brains for useful ideas I could suggest to you for a gift for your Russian woman. And yesterday morning when I woke up I had a fantastic idea.
You see, it’s been my observation that Russian people love leather clothing. So I “prowled” the Internet looking for quality leather goods at reasonable prices. Having found what I was looking for, I was about to post it here. Then I asked Alla about the idea and she “nixed” it - - too many issues of style, size, and color. Plus, she informed me that my observation was not entirely accurate. Sure Russians love leather but it’s mostly preferred by older people and that for Russian women under 45 years old, it’s not fashionable. The attraction for older Russians is because wearing leather, which is very expensive in Russia, is a status symbol expressing prestige and achievement.
So I’m back to square one and then Alla rescued me by suggesting
I recommend jewelry. All women (well 90+% at least) love jewelry. So back to the Internet. Find a reputable merchant, with secure online purchase facilities, that sells quality jewelry at good prices. I outdid myself on this one. My search ended with a well known name. Click here for the Best Jewelry prices on the web from Overstock.com! There’s a huge selection to choose from and each piece is accompanied by a detailed description and large photos. Most items are steeply discounted (I saw some discounts of 70% with many in the 50+% range). Also, many items have free shipping and guaranteed delivery before Christmas if ordered by December 19.
Go ahead. Check it out. It’s the closest thing I can think of to guarantee pleasing your lady, whatever her age and wherever she’s from.
There is one thing, however to be cautious about. If you are buying jewelry for a foreign woman with the intention of taking it to her, be certain to check very carefully into the customs regulations of the country you’ll be traveling to. Some countries require that you pay an import duty on jewelry items or gifts that cost above a specific amount. I’ll cover more about that in a later post.
Enjoy the season and each day’s blessings.
Gary
p.s. If you’re interested in the leather clothing idea, Overstock.com is a very good merchant for that also. Just put “women’s leather clothing” in their search bar.
