According to statistics compiled by The Greeting Card Association, 85% of the 1 billion Valentine cards given worldwide are given by women. I assume that much of the disparity between women’s expressions versus men’s is due to women’s natural tendencies as “hearth-keepers”. Hence they express feelings of affection to people more easily.
We men on the other hand, have a failing in this regard because we find it more comfortable (e.g. less painful) to believe that the other person “magically” knows our feelings and we therefore are not required to express them. WRONG!! Contrary to what men believe, women cannot read our minds, especially about how we feel about them. So if you want to have a close loving relationship with a woman, you’ll have to go into the uncomfortable realm of expressing your feelings.
O.K., enough “Dr. Phil stuff”. What’s all this got to do with Russian women? It’s very simple. You, in wanting a relationship with a Russian woman have certain expectations ____ ____ ____ (you fill in the blanks). And likewise, Russian women, too, have expectations which center mostly around the idea of “men being men”- - able to provide, able to do, not afraid of pain, and especially, able to be a friend, lover and a “good husband for her family”. These women love to be married. It’s a cultural imperative.
So guys, here’s your chance. Valentine’s Day is coming. “Express Yer-self”. Put some mortar in your relationship**. Do something special for her - - a gift, a card, cook dinner (oops, forget that unless you know how), clean the house, or at least the garage, watch her TV programs (with her), but most of all, in no uncertain terms, give her the gift of how you really feel about her.
** Mortar for relationships - - for men lasts 1+ years (min.), for women lasts 1+ days (max.).
Until next time when I hope my final research on how best to find a Russian woman to marry will be done (a couple of phone tags from now), may your heart be open and free.
Gary.
P.S. I added a new gift resource to our “Gifts For Her” page on January 31. Open that page and read about NOVICA for some very special one-of-a-kind gift ideas that she will love. My suggestion - - check the Alpaca items under “clothing and accessories” on their home page link I’ve provided on our “Gifts For Her” page” or simply browse the apparel items under this link Andes
P.P.S. In my 01-22-07 post on “Gifts For Her” about Valentines Day chocolate, I wrote that “Russian people do not celebrate Valentines Day per se”. I’ve since been informed by my chief editor (Alla) that my statement is not correct. So, I’ve “word-smithed” the 01-22-07 “Gifts For Her” entry accordingly. But regardless of my misstatement about Russian customs, click the pic and buy the chocolate - - it’s incredible, like no chocolate she ever had in her life!!!
