Hello from Gary.
I’m going to describe here our position about blog comments on RussianBrideFacts.com and put forth some rules on how we deal with them. This way, if you post comments on our site you’ll know what to expect.
First off know that we encourage our readers to comment on our posts. Comments are good because they allow the reader to participate in the topic under discussion and they allow readers to share their knowledge and experiences with other readers. This enriches the post to the benefit of the entire reading
community.
Comments also provide us with the opportunity to get to know our readers and to create posts more closely attuned to what readers are truly interested in.
So comments are good stuff. We want them and appreciate them. Feel free to post comments. Whether you agree or disagree with the content of our posts, you’re welcome to write your opinion. Just be sure to describe what you agree or disagree with in the post.
And too, you’re welcome to include your link at the comment header and/or in the body of the comment. Our blog is setup with “do follow” turned on so your link is indexed by search engines and other readers will see your link and possibly visit your site. Traffic is good, yes? In fact, often while moderating comments, I will visit a reader’s site. This lets me learn about the people who visit our blog. And often too, I’ll post a relevant comment on that reader’s site. Content is good too, yes?

We do have some rules about post comments.
The first and foremost rule - - The comment header requests the commentor’s e-mail address. We will NEVER under any circumstances share, sell, trade or otherwise disclose your e-mail address.
The second rule is - - No personal attacks are allowed against any reader, religion, country, ethnic group, etc., etc. Period.
The third rule is - - Your comment must be relevant. It must contribute to the discussion and the blog comments you post must have content that proves you actually read our blog post.
What’s this third rule all about? you ask. Well for about $30 you can buy software that creates lists of “do follow” blogs and then will automatically post comments on those blogs. When I can take a comment, put quotes around it and get 20,000 Google hits for that comment (the high count I found so far is 1.8 million for 1 comment) I know some creep has just visited my site with a program. A person never visited the site and never read my post. Yet there’s a comment telling how valuable my post is, what a great writer I am and how they’re going to send all their friends to my site. This is spam. This is fraud. This is immoral. It’s also stupid.
These people think they are going to fool Google and get high rankings because of all the links. Well Google is not stupid. They know the tactic, will not credit the links, and will likely penalize a site with lower rankings for use of the automated comment spamming practice.
So there you have it folks: them’s the rules. Please post comments, but keep them relevant and contribute to the discussion. Share your opinions, knowledge and experience.
Any blog comments that do not adhere to these rules will be deleted as spam.
Thanks and good luck to you all.
Gary.
