Hello from Gary;
Again we have a dual topic post. The first part is about what you should NOT ask a Russian woman about. And the second part is about yet another extension that’s been added to our A Foreign Affair review.
Actually, part one should be extended to Russian men as well because it’s a cultural issue that is common to all Russians.
So what should you NOT ask about?
We in the West well know that it’s not cool to ask/talk about politics and religion outside the company of close personal friends. The results of probing about these subjects is unpredictable because they are loaded with so much passion and innuendo.
And this same taboo holds true when talking with Russians. But the reasons why not to are even more strong. This has to do with the legacy of the Soviet communist repression for many decades. Under the Soviet regime, political talk was constrained to talking only favorably about “the party”. Any talk other than favorable could result in a long time sentence to a gulag or labor camp.Talking about religion could likewise lead to problems since “the Party” declared itself the only religion necessary.
This multi-generation repression has left a mark on the Russian character that persists even today many years after the fall of communism. It takes a long time for such social stigmas to completely dissipate. So definitely don’t talk about politics or religion with your Russian bride. If you do, you’ll get very cold reactions.
And there are two other things NOT to ask about. The first is money. It’s true in the West too that you do not ask people how much money they make or have. But here the information is much more available and we’re not particularly uptight about it. But in Russia, those types of questions are insulting. Some of this also goes back to the Soviet social stamp.
And the last thing to not ask are questions about personal health. Health and a person’s physical status are deeply personal matters. If someone has some specific health issue, they will tell you about it if they want to. But don’t ask. It’s VERY rude to ask.
So what can you ask about? Well there’s a long list for that and we’ll cover some topics in a future post.
If any of our Russian readers would like to comment on what’s written here, please do. Just don’t include “.com” anywhere in your comment post. If you do, your comment will be automatically deleted and we will never see it to include it on the site. Thanks.
O.K., now on to the latest extension added to our A Foreign Affair review.
Since our site here is about Russian women, our A Foreign Affair review is heavily slanted toward Russian women. That’s unfair to A Foreign Affair and to certain of our readers as well. Because the facts are that A Foreign Affair has profiles for women from many parts of the world. As well, they have offices in many cities across the globe and conduct romance tours in lots of cities, not just Russian and Ukrainian cities.
So we updated our review to point that out. On the update we included photos of some of the Asian women A Foreign Affair has profiles for.

Now here’s an interesting cultural tidbit to ponder. On the profiles for Russian and Asian women, height and weight are specified. On the profiles for the Latin women below, height and weight are also specified, as well as each woman’s measurements. This goes back to that “deeply personal” thing written about a few paragraphs back.
Here are clickable photos of some of A Foreign Affair’s Latin women:

That’s it for now. We’ll post more do’s and don’ts stuff soon.
We hope you enjoyed this post.
Best of luck to you!
